📢 Important Update: New Civic Engagement Policy (SLP/CIP)
Dear Students,
The Academic Council and the President’s Office have approved a new Civic Engagement Policy, reaffirming our university’s commitment to community engagement while improving the structure of the program.
Here’s what you need to know:
✅ Two Pathways to Fulfill the Requirement:
- CIP 2100 (1 credit): Complete 60 hours of documented community service.
- SLP Component (1 credit): Take a course with an approved Service-Learning component, requiring at least 40 hours of hands-on service connected to that course.
✅ Course Integration:
- The standalone SLP 1101 course is discontinued.
- All SLP components will now be linked to an academic course and taken concurrently (e.g., if you register for ABC 2305, you must also register for its paired SLP 2305).
Your active participation is crucial for the success of this initiative and for making a meaningful impact in the community.
If you have questions, please contact the Civic Engagement Office or your academic advisor for guidance.
